Become a Trustee

Parenting Mental Health / Become a Trustee

Parenting Mental Health is a national charity which supports parents and families in the UK and globally. Our founder, Suzanne Alderson, set up the Facebook group ‘Parenting Mental Health’ in 2016 after her teenage daughter became depressed and suicidal. Its goal was to connect and support parents of children with poor mental health. Since then it has attracted over 24,000 active members. We support parents in both the UK and globally.

Using digital channels and programs Parenting Mental Health now empowers, skills, and supports tens of thousands of parents to successfully navigate each stage of their child’s mental illness, and to become stronger and more resilient families. We registered as a charity in 2020 and are at an exciting stage in our development.

We have three trustee vacancies and are looking for proactive individuals with professional or lived experience of the support families need when a child has a mental health difficulty, along with some experience of the charity or business sectors.

PMH is a positive caring organisation. We are non judgemental and treat our members with kindness and understanding. We also like to get things done, and want to offer practical support and services to the parents in our community.

Please write a supporting statement of not more than 2 sides of A4 outlining the relevant skills and experience that you would bring to the PMH board. If you have a CV please submit that as well.

For full information on the position, please download the PMH Trustee Application Pack

We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), disabled and LGBTQ+ candidates,  as these groups  are currently under-represented on the PMH Board.

To apply, please email your statement and optional CV to recruitment@parentingmentalhealth.com

The closing date is 5pm on Monday 28th February.
